A few thoughts regarding the death of Steve Jobs

The fact that Steve Jobs is dead does not really disturb me. It's the prospect that possibly with all his resources, he couldn't fight cancer for longer. The true limits of our mortality even with abundant resources is scary. Hopefully he felt he lived a good life. I'm interested if there will be any charitable actions in his will, particularly if it starts a larger motion against things like cancer. He and Apple potentially could do much good for the world in the coming weeks and so on. Death is an end, not getting to live life is tragic. With the long-term goals we set for ourselves, I'd hope we could achieve some satisfaction. I advise everyone to be wary at the prospect of someone trying to profit from someone's death. I would hope though that with the amount of intellect Steve Jobs had in addition to some of his luck, he'd been able to take care of at least some of his goals. Taking care of friends and family through your life's work is awe invoking, taking care of the world through your life's work is an indescribable amount of generosity. I'd hope that everyone could achieve some sort of satisfaction when approaching death. I worry though about those among humanity would fail to act human in order to profit for personal gains. So Steve Jobs dieing is sad, the possibilities surrounding the idea of him could be significant one way or the other. He lived an American life, I wonder where that will lead.
